         Susan Gal began her illustration career as a poster and calendar artist in Los Angeles and then became an 'in-betweener' (the artist who fills in the movements between key-visuals ) for Disney Animation Florida. The lure of the silver screen dulled and Susan returned to her native California where she happily creates lively, textural and whimsical illustrations in the beautiful Bay Area.
         When not illustrating, Susan enjoys biking, backpacking, and hiking to really high places with her husband and daughter.  
         Susan wrote and illustrated her first children's book, Night Lights, to be published by Knopf in June 2009.
