Biography
Nishan Akgulian's artwork is a product of his love of gestural drawing and the minimalist aesthetic. Combining expressive brush strokes with carefully designed abstract shapes he always strives to give a visual energy to every image he creates.
Nishan's work has appeared in numerous national and international magazines, advertising campaigns and corporate publications. He has done nearly 100 greeting cards for Marcel Schurman Fine Papers and Graphique de France, and has been included in numerous industry illustration annuals, including Communication Arts, Society of Illustrators, Print magazine & American Illustration. His artwork has also been exhibited in several juried group shows in New York City, as well as Hartford, CT, Evanston, IL, and Racine, WI.
