Print advertising has never been more important and the Workbook has never been a more powerful vehicle for presenting your work. While the Web offers an array of imagery and search capabilities, art directors continue to turn to the Workbook for an instant overview of assignment work without the confi nes of keywords. With an ad in the Workbook, you are able to communicate what makes you unique to a serious art buying audience. Workbook 30 distributes in February/March 2008.

Perks

A Self-Managed Workbook Portfolio Online is included with an ad in the Workbook.

Photographers receive 5 screens with a spread or 10 screens with two or more spreads.
Illustrators receive 5 screens with a single page or 10 screens with a spread.

Additional screens may be purchased. Portfolios can also be Workbook-Managed, but require additional payment if not submitted Web-ready.

Payment Plans

The Workbook accepts payments by check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, Diners Club or American Express. As a convenience to you, the Workbook can automatically charge your credit card when payments are due. Fill in your credit card information and check the appropriate box on the contract.

Plan B   Requires a 25% deposit with contract. The balance is due in three (3) equal payments: July 10, August 10 and September 10, 2008.

Plan C   Requires a 1/8 deposit with contract. There is no added interest but in order to qualify for this plan, you must include your Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, Diners Club or American Express number and expiration date. The balance is due in seven (7) equal payments beginning July 10, 2008 with the last payment due January 10, 2009. You will be billed on the first of each month. If payment is not received by the 26th of the month, your credit card will automatically be charged for that payment.

Plan D #1   Requires a 25% deposit with contract. A 10% space discount is available to all advertisers who have their artwork in the Workbook office AND the balance of their ad payment to the Workbook office postmarked no later than June 6, 2008. Please note: NO invoice will be sent and it is your responsibility to have the payment postmarked by June 6, 2008. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Plan D #2  Requires a deposit with contract. Payments are due monthly with the last payment postmarked no later than June 6, 2008. To receive the full 10% space discount, your artwork must also be sent to the Workbook office no later than June 6, 2008. If your artwork is late, you will receive a 5% discount.

Plan E   Requires a 25% deposit with contract. A 5% discount is available to all advertisers whose artwork is late but whose balance of ad payment is sent to the Workbook postmarked by June 6, 2008 or if payment in full is made with signed contract. Please note: NO invoice will be sent.

Complimentary distribution to art directors and art buyers in the United States, Canada and the UK at advertising agencies, design studios, Fortune 500 corporations, and in-house art departments at magazine and book publishers, record companies, movie studios, TV and radio stations. Books are also sold in Europe, Asia and Mexico and in the United States at bookstores, art and camera supply stores and by direct mail.

Deadlines

First Ad Closing: April 25, 2008
Second Ad Closing: May 16, 2008
Artwork due: May 30, 2008.
Cash Discount deadline: June 6, 2008.

Reprints

All advertisers receive 1,000 reprints of each of their pages on 8 pt. gloss coated card stock at no additional charge. If you do not want reprints, deduct $90 per page from the page cost. If you are part of a rep group, everyone must agree.

Extension Fees

There will be a charge of $100 per week for artwork turned in after the Workbook has shipped to the printer.

Production Charges

Production charges are DUE upon receipt of invoice. Production charges will be billed to your credit card if they are 30 days past due or built into your payment plan.

Special Reprints

Spread, extra or bound special reprints are produced after the book is printed and are available by mid-March, 2009. There is a charge of $450 per single page for an additional 1,000 reprints, or $900 for 1,000 spread (16"w. x 10"h.) reprints.

Press Proofs

In order to keep the Workbook on schedule, we reserve the right to give press proofs only to those advertisers who have their artwork in the Workbook office by the artwork deadline.

Ad Preparation

The Workbook is printed on a 4-color press. All PMS colors are made from a percentage of the 4-color process.

Upon receipt of contract, a production PDF file will be sent to your email address. You can also go to workbook.com/advertisers/information and click on the Downloads link for the production PDF file. If you would like a production disc or have a question, please call Production. Production Charges

High-Resolution Files
$175 per page for output and press proof from the printer
$50 per disk to pre-flight high-resolution files

Low-Resolution Files
$135 per transparency
$150 per flat art
$150 cross-over charge
$55 per halftone image

Artwork + Prduction

There is no reserved positioning. Folio numbers will be added to advertising pages.
